CareerREADY provides short-term (six to twelve weeks) customized courses to meet the demand for specialized workers, at NO COST to you if you qualify. Services provided in partnership with Hillsborough Community College and local partners/employers to integrate work-based learning opportunities and give participants real-time knowledge of work environments and practices.

Course Descriptions

MECHATRONICS & ROBOTICS

Mechatronics combines mechanical, electronic and computer technologies to create automated, ‘intelligent’ machinery and robotics that improve the efficiency, safety and productivity of manufacturing (and other) processes. Instruction will include: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic along with Tools, Meters and Test Equipment. The program has 4 modules each 2 weeks in duration. Students have the option to register for 1 or more modules. Participants will receive a NIMS certification for each module they successfully complete and pass the certification exam.

SOLDERING & CABLING

Come learn electronic assembly and earn J Standard and IPC 610 Certifications! Both the J Standard and IPC 610 credentials are industry recognized/required soldering and inspection programs for aerospace, defense, medical and a variety of other electronic assembly industries.

WELDING & FABRICATION

Students will learn OSHA Safety, fundamentals of welding, Thermal Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). Students successfully completing this program will receive an OSHA 10 certificate.
